Gauge Point Calibration is uniquely positioned as the leading tank calibration company
in the world, with our industry leading technology - High Definition Survey System.
Gauge Point’s HDS System uses the latest laser scanning technology to capture, visualize
and model complex structures, including (but not limited) to Tanks, Spheres, Ships,
Barges, Levee Systems, etc., with an unprecedented combination of speed, completeness,
accuracy and safety.
Gaugpoint Calibration offers the ability to publish data to a panoramic viewing format which
can be posted to the Web. Users can then view this data with the Internet Explorer
plug-in Leica TruView. The requirements to support this functionality are purposely
very basic. There is no Web middleware or server software necessary.
This data is not only available over the web. Fundamentally, it can be posted to
any location on a local hard drive for a single user or a LAN or WAN accessible
location for internal users or to a website to be available over the Web. Web Content
Data Structure “TruView File Set” The basic unit of this published Web content is
a single panoramic view from the center point (scanner location).
The TruView File Set contains a large set of the files that constitute the panoramic
view. This large set of files is required to support advanced features of the viewer
such as the ability to stream the data down over the web to ensure quick user response
times, multiple levels of detail and the ability to access accurate dimensional
detail from any point in the view.
The typical TruView File Set is 10-20mb depending on the level of accuracy, the
range included, etc. However, due to the advanced capabilities of the Leica TruView
panoramic viewer, downloading performance over a typical web connection allows a
user to begin interacting with the view within a few seconds of first access. The
organization of a TruView File Set is a two level folder arrangement. Once posted
to the Web all that is required is a hyperlink into the appropriate file. If the
user has installed the Leica TruView Internet Explorer plug-in, they will have full
interactive access to the panoramic point cloud view.
